March 21, 2016—Arnold Middle School eighth-grade student Tyler Kindred has changed his previously negative outlook on school to positive, according to Arnold adaptive behavior teacher Shelli Huckins. “He has become an upstanding student,” she said, citing new AB teacher Hope Boyd for the turnaround. “She lives by the Jerry McGuire motto, ‘Help me help you.’ Tyler has given every effort to show Mrs. Boyd that he can and will be successful. I cannot tell you how much improvement he has shown,” Huckins said.
School: Arnold Middle School
Accomplishments: Completed a total turnaround in Arnold’s AB program; earned nickname “House Dad” for being a great mentor to incoming students in the program.
Favorite class: Math.
Favorite things to do after class: Taking charge of projects around the room and outside the classroom, including taking down posters and organizing the book room.

Ambition: “I want to be a long haul truck driver so I can tour the States. I want to grow and be successful and prove to myself and others it can be done.”
What topics/things are you passionate about? “I am passionate about my clothes and how I look. It makes me feel better when I look good on the outside.”
What three things can’t you live without? My cell phone, my bike and my clothes.
What are you most looking forward to this semester? “I am looking forward to staying on the honor roll all year.”
